Linkin Park Weighs In – Chester Bennington As A Hologram?
While Linkin Park hasn’t made any first announcements about its future in the wake of singer Chester Bennington‘s July 20 suicide, the group is ruling out one thing — a Bennington hologram.
During an Instagram chat with fans, co-frontman Mike Shinoda said in response to a question that,
“I can’t even wrap my head around the idea of a holographic Chester. I’ve actually heard other people outside the band suggest that, and there’s absolutely no way. I cannot f*** with that. I can’t do a hologram Chester you guy,ss, that would be the worst. For any of you guys who have lost a loved one, best friend, family member, can you imagine having a hologram of them? Awful. I can’t do it. I don’t know what we’re going to do, but we’ll figure it out eventually.”
Linkin Park held an all-star tribute to Bennington during late October in Los Angeles and on Friday (December 15) released “One More Night Live” from the European leg of this year’s tour that took place before Bennington’s death.
Shinoda told Billboard last week that Linkin Park’s “grief is an ongoing process” and said that, “Coping with the end of this chapter is obviously devastating, but at the same time, it’s also the beginning of the next story.”
