Vicky Cornell Shares Video, Photos of Chris Cornell and Their Children
The late Chris Cornell‘s widow Vicky shared a sweet, emotional home video for the holiday weekend, featuring Cornell and their son Christopher from three years ago and talking about family holiday traditions.
Vicky Cornell accompanied the clip with the message, “Sharing a special Chirstmas video that Chris made with C 3 years ago for school. While the holidays will never be the same again without Chris, we will always remember his boundless love. Happy Holidays & thank you all for your much needed love and support.”

She posted a second message as well, showing a photo of Cornell hoisting daughter Toni in the air to put ornaments on a tree, with a longer message reading, “This holiday season has been difficult to say the least. I have lost the love of my life, best friend and the father of my children. There are days that are so challenging that the truth is it’s often hard to see what there is to be grateful for. I search so deep but it’s right in front of me as I look to our children and see that there is so very much to be grateful for. I think about how Christmas was above all about our children. I find gratitude in the bedrock of memories of the wonderful Christmases we had as a family for thirteen incredible years, to help me through this. I’m so grateful for the love and support of my family, old friends and new who lift me up and give me the strength to keep going. I’m also grateful to all of you, the thousands of fans all over the world who have sent us messages and the beautiful holiday cards- knowing you are thinking of us and sending us your love means so much. You too help lift us. I am so very grateful for Chris’s love for his children that I know we will get through this and their future will never be bleak. The great Songwriter Pete Seeger turned the words of Ecclesiastes into one of the great songs of hope, ‘To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose unto heaven, a time to love and a time to die; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.’ Now is the time for us to live, as Chris would have wanted us to. From our family to yours Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! Loudlove, VCx #keepthepromise.”
Cornell committed suicide on May 18 after a Soundgarden concert in Detroit. A new scholarship was recently established in his name at the UCLA School of Law.
