Baby Sussex Makes His Royal Photo Debut
Duchess Meghan Markle and her newborn son made the first photo debut Wednesday since the baby was delivered Monday.
The family of three — Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and their little bundle of joy — posed for photos at Windsor Castle.
Meghan and Harry had previously caused a bit of controversy by skipping the hospital photo-op immediately after the baby’s birth, which has been carried on by Duchess Kate Middleton and Harry and Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana. The tradition, which puts intense stress on the mother having just given birth, involves her posing for an official photo outside of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s hospital either the same day or the following day. Instead, the couple waited a whole two days to show off the baby to the world.
“It’s magic,” Meghan gushed to the press. “It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”
Dressed in a white sleeveless dress, she added that the baby “has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.”
Prince Harry, who has been the happiest dad we’ve seen in recent memory, held his son proudly.
“Everyone says babies change so much over two weeks,” he said. “We’re basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month, really. His looks are changing every single day, so who knows?”
The couple has not yet announced the name of the baby.
