Hear Disturbed’s ‘Down With The Sickness’ in the Style of 1950’s Doo-Wop
Disturbed’s “Down With The Sickness” remains one of the band’s most enduring singles that it was only a matter of time before the internet had some fun with it.
Over on the Funny subreddit, u/dustin1776 — who has a history of putting unique spins on various popular tunes — shared the cover below along with the caption, “You guys asked me to ruin ‘Down With The Sickness.’ Here’s a 1950s doo-wop version.”
I wouldn’t say he “ruined” the tune, but he did somehow make it more disturbing. (Pun intended.) The best part about stumbling upon this cover is realizing u/dustin1776 appears to be the same force behind covering Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” in the style of a Broadway show tune.
If anything, it’s moments like these that provide important reminders that the internet isn’t always a dumpster fire hellscape.
