David Byrne Picks Suit Up From Dry Cleaners, ‘Stop Making Sense’ Headed Back to Theaters
David Byrne is “suiting up” again. Why? To celebrate a milestone anniversary of Stop Making Sense, the Talking Heads’ iconic concert film.
This December will mark 40 years since the filming of the concerts at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater that helped create the Stop Making Sense. In honor of the anniversary, the film is heading back to theaters at a later date that will be announced in the near future. Additionally, the soundtrack will be reissued on August 18.
The teaser trailer for the reissue and theater return is below. We see David Byrne visit a dry cleaner and say to the clerk while handing him a weathered slip, “Hi, I’m picking up. It’s been here for a while.” The dry cleaner clerk then retrieves that oversized business suit, much to Byrne’s delight.
