Work begins in early 2025 on The Top Hat, a non-gaming hotel in Atlantic City’s Orange Loop area. The eye-catching building will combine retail shops with spacious vacation units that can hold up to twelve guests. Located on Tennessee Avenue near the Boardwalk, this six-bedroom project turns an empty lot into something remarkable. RMS Capital from Lakehurst backs the exciting project.

“The Top Hat at The Orange Loop is a game changer for Atlantic City. We’re not just building a structure, we’re creating a space that will serve as a landmark for residents and visitors alike,” said Mark Callazzo to Shore Local News. “The Orange Loop has come a long way from its ‘Dead Zone’ days, and this project represents the next step in its evolution. It’s about revitalizing the area, supporting local businesses, and offering unique experiences that drive tourism and economic growth,” Callazzo said.

Inspired by the iconic board game piece, the building features a distinctive top hat on its roof. There, guests can enjoy panoramic ocean views from a rooftop deck. The concept draws from the city’s history. In 1935, the original Monopoly borrowed Atlantic City’s streets for its famous board game.

Each spot matches a real street here, except Marvin Gardens, which is actually in nearby Ventnor City. Street-level shops aim to bring new business energy. Staff will point guests toward nearby restaurants and local spots worth visiting.
