Over the weekend, Nikki Sixx celebrated his 64th birthday. The Motley Crue and SIXX:A.M. member has been a part of some of the best rock tunes ever.

Let’s take a look at some of his highlights, in no particular order!

• 5. Motley Crue: “RED HOT”

  Sure, this song starts off with a cool double bass intro from Tommy Lee, but once the guitars and bass come in, it cranks up a notch! a cool riff with lyrics equally as intriguing:

  The kids scream in fright through the night
  Loving every bite with delight
  And we blow out our minds with your truth
  And together we stand for the youth

• 4. Sixx A.M.: “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”

  A song that starts out with a guitar intro that tricks you into thinking this is going to be a slow-temp ballad.  and then, that monster guitar riff is introduced and of course, those powerful vocals by James Michael are overlayed and you’ve got a song that’s both heavy and emotional…..and just plain rocks.

• 3. Motley Crue: “DON’T GO AWAY MAD (JUST GO AWAY)”

  A fun tune, that”s not your average break-up song.  cool lead riffs and bass action over a pre-chorus, build into a really interesting and stadium-chanting anthem in the chorus.

• 2. Motley Crue: “SAINTS OF LOS ANGELES”

  A song that came out later in their career, and it gets down and dirty like the Crue is known to do. With a great guitar solo and an infectious chorus. This is one not to be overlooked.

• 1. Motley Crue: “PUBLIC ENEMY #1”

  From their debut, this one is raw, yet shows their ability to write choruses and lyrics that can be sung by everyone in a stadium setting.
