We get so many concerts here in the great state of New Jersey. From festivals to major headliners, it seems like there’s always someone great to check out.

However, sometimes someone’s tour doesn’t have a stop nearby, or maybe you just love the band so much that you want to check them out multiple times.

So, I posed the question to DHA listeners “How far from home have you traveled to see a rock show?”

There were some awesome responses and even some unexpected artists named. Check out this list below of some of the highlights from DHA listeners.

  • LISTENER KELLEY: Tampa, Florida for Dave Matthews Band

Dave and company always put on a jam-filled long and talented live show.  Not too surprising that a friend of the station went down south to catch a show!

  • LISTENER MICHAEL: Columbus, Ohio for Bon Jovi

My first thought was why didn’t you catch them in their home state?  And then I immediately remembered that I also checked out a Bon Jovi show a distance away from the Garden State.  And of course, they didn’t disappoint.  Jon sounded incredible and the crowd singing along to “Livin on A Prayer” is always epic.  No Matter what state you’re in.

  • LISTENER BARRETT: Cabo, Mexico for Sammy Hagar

Personally, I’ve never seen Sammy down there, but I hear it’s extraordinary. I mean, it’s beautiful…..you can sip on tequila, and Sammy always brings the party – AND THE LIVE SHOW!  What a voice.  And I’m sure, what a concert Barrett witnessed.

  • LISTENER JOHN: Sunset Strip in California for Ace and Peter Criss

The heat in California just feels different.  It’s not as stuffy and “HOT”, it’s gorgeous weather.  And I’m sure at night at the House OF Blues, Space Ace and The Catman brought their A- Games.  Always fun to see members of Kiss playing.  They each have some enduring charm or charisma about them, that immediately pulls you in to their performance!

  • LISTENER TIM: Fenway Park in Boston for Pearl Jam

Eddie Vedder and company have played that stadium a number of times.  In fact, you can hear recordings of it.  And when you listen, you can hear the excitement of the crowd and the electric energy that buzzes throughout the entire field and through the stands that it’s undeniable – IF you haven’t seen Pearl Jam live in a while, check them out.  And maybe make a trip of it to Massachusetts!
