‘Knives Out 2’ Is Already In The Works, According To Director Rian Johnson
Possible spoilers ahead for Knives Out. Detective Benoit Blanc will be back on the case and quick. A Knives Out sequel is in the works with Daniel Craig set to return as Blanc. Writer/director Rian Johnson confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter at a pre-Golden Globes party.
Johnson reportedly said that the film will focus on Craig’s Southern lawyer who helped crack the case at the heart of Knives Out. Johnson also said that he’d like to make the film in the next year. According to Johnson’s producing partner Ram Bergman, Craig is already onboard. “Daniel had so much fun doing it, and he wants to do more,” Berman said.
Lionsgate, the studio behind Knives Out, hasn’t officially confirmed a sequel, but with the success of the original, it’s hard to believe they won’t. Since its release in November, Knives Out has earned over $238 million at the box office making it the highest-grossing original release of 2019.
