Cher’s Historic Nomination
Cher has been eligible for the Rock Hall for over three decades, but she just received her first nomination in 2024. The pop icon talked about famously being snubbed by the Rock Hall during a December 2023 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Clarkson mentions how Cher has had a No. 1 song in each of the past seven decades. While Clarkson marveled at that feat, Cher tells her that the Rolling Stones have also accomplished the same. However, Cher mentions that the Stones are in the Rock Hall, but she isn’t.
The studio audience and Clarkson were aghast at that, but Cher took everything in stride. She said, “I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars … They can just go you-know-what-themselves.”
