Aerosmith Is Leaving Disney World
I’ve loved the Rock N Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney for years. Unfortunately, Aerosmith is leaving Disney World! At least their ride is being taken over by another world-famous group – The Muppets.
I was just in Disney World on vacation a few weeks ago and my family absolutely loved the Rock N Roller Coaster. It was the first time my young kids went on it. For my wife and I, there was so much nostalgia for us! Both of us are huge Aerosmith fans so going through the line and being inside the fake “recording studio” that the band uses is a good time. We had to kind of explain the story to our young ones, but they got it.
If you’ve never been, Aerosmith is running late to a show and it’s your job to help get them to the venue on time. Speed limits be damned! As soon as you “take off” it’s a wild ride with upside-down loops and blistering speeds of 60mph. It really rocks as you sit back and enjoy the lights and sweet sounds of the boys from Boston. It debuted back in 1999 and now, after all these years, it seems that they’re removing Aerosmith from the ride.
Since they’re closing Muppet Vision 3D, the Muppets will be taking over the ride. Not sure if it will stay the same or if it will get a complete overhaul. But it’s sad because that was always such a good time. And actually so was Muppet Vision 3D. Sure it’s a little hokey, but fun nonetheless.
The stars of Monsters Inc will find a home where Muppets 3D was. As for the coaster? Here’s what Disney said in a statement:
“To make way for the monsters, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy ,and more of their friends will be moving right along to Sunset Boulevard! But there’s more to the story: The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!”
