Playing in the Olympics is a thrill, and for NJ’s Patrick Kivlehan playing for the USA was something he will never forget.

The 2024 Summer Olympics are underway in Paris and though baseball isn’t part of the event, back in 2021 Patrick helped bring home a silver medal in baseball for the United States.

Patrick played both baseball and football at St. Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale before heading to Rutgers where he played football for four years.

During his senior year, Patrick decided to give baseball a shot and he ultimately was named Big East Player of the Year and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners.

Patrick played four seasons in the MLB and has had some amazing experiences in baseball, but it’s tough to find something that compares with wearing the uniform of your country and competing on the world stage.

This morning on Jersey Magazine, Jim Monaghan and Patrick talk about the Olympic experience, playing for your country, and more.

  • Greetings From the Garden State - the Great Notch Inn

When people think of New Jersey, a few things immediately come to mind – the Jersey Shore, diners, and the Great Notch Inn.

This week on our Greetings From the Garden State segment, host Mike Ham previews this coming week’s spotlight on one of New Jersey’s most famous dive bars which has a history like no other.

How many places can say they were put on logs and rolled across the street to a new location?

ABOUT TITAN- (Why Did He Come To Halfway Home?)

    TC Collection
Titan weighs more than I do! But he’s a lap dog at heart!

Titan is a 2-year-old dog purchased from a breeder (we have been told) and, as you can hear in his video, ate a corn cob. Not a big deal right? Well, unfortunately, it was. The corn cob got stuck in his intestines, and this poor guy needed surgery to repair it.

He was surrendered by his person and the kind folks at Halfway Home came in, paid the bill, and sprung this pup into action in the quest for a new start.  Titan is friendly, but a BIG BOY, so remember that big dog experience is a MUST for any potential adopter.

He also likes his exercise, so a home with a yard would be fantastic. Titan lived with kids and is fine with smaller people! BUT our to his large size (and the fact that he thinks he’s a lap dog!) Halfway Home is looking for a home with older children as an ideal fit.  Titan is also a velcro dog, who likes to be near his people and have a companion.  He is a big gentle guy, who would finally love a place to hang his collar!
