Growing up as a drummer I played in several metal bands that went nowhere lol. But it was fun nonetheless. Of course, there were many bands from New Jersey me and my bandmates looked up to. We have such a great music scene here in the Garden State and Heavy Metal is a genre which has a rich history and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! We’re going to take a look at 5 great Hard Rock and heavy Metal bands from New Jersey you should know!

    There’s been a number of lineup changes, but one thing remains consistent with their music. It’s always thrashy, heavy and fun to listen to!

  • GOD FORBID

    This is pure Metal Core.  Heavy, with sick crunchy guitar riffs.  Cool stuff!  Those screams are raw emotion!!!

     

     

  • SYMPHONY X

    Progressive Metal at it’s finest.  I have no idea how you remember what part to play lol.  But it’s pretty damn good stuff!

  • 40 BELOW SUMMER

    Lumped into the Nu-Metal batch of bands, these guys do it all.  They mix/blend various genres together to give you something pretty unique.

  • ILL NINO

    Call it Latin Metal, Alt-Metal….call it whatever you want.  This is heavy and rockin’ and just downright cool!
