Number Of Juvenile COVID-19 Patients In U.S. Skyrockets

More than 211,000 U.S. children were diagnosed with COVID-19 last week, the American Academy of Pediatrics reports.
The figure, which represents an 18 percent increase in juvenile cases from just two weeks ago, brings the total number of U.S. cases involving children to 2.5 million, according to the academy.
Juveniles now represent 12.6 percent of all U.S. COVID cases.
While the figures are high, the number of children who actually suffer from symptoms remains very low, experts say.
In fact, kids make up only 1.2 percent to 2.8 percent of all COVID-19 patients in hospitals, the academy reports.
