The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II draped in the Royal Standard with the Imperial State Crown is pulled past Buckingham Palace following her funeral service at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022 in London, England. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor was born in Bruton Street, Mayfair, London on 21 April 1926. She married Prince Philip in 1947 and ascended the throne of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth on 6 February 1952 after the death of her Father, King George VI. Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8, 2022, and is succeeded by her eldest son, King Charles III.

The world gave a final goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch (70 years), at a state funeral on Monday. After thousands of mourners filled in front of the 96-year-old’s flag-draped coffin to pay their respects, the doors of Westminster Hall were closed. The Queen’s committal service began with song as the pallbearers carried her coffin into St. George’s Chapel. Around 800 guests are in attendance for the queen’s committal service.

It has been 11 days since Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral castle in Scotland on Thursday, September 8. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth, has been named King to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. His Majesty was joined by Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Prince William and Prince Harry in the procession of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin to St. George’s Chapel at the Quadrangle at Windsor Castle today (September 19).

Her Majesty will be buried with her late husband Prince Philip, who died at the age of 99 in 2021. After the ceremony, the Orb and Sceptre will be removed from the queen’s coffin before it is lowered into the vault.
