Ridge Baseball Club is a volunteer-run non-profit youth baseball organization in Bernards Township that provides recreational and travel baseball programs, as well as a buddy ball program for special needs children, at the RBC Complex to more than 400 local children annually.

Kevin Larner and Dennis Wilson are the president and secretary of Ridge Baseball Club which serves the youth of Bernards Township.

The lawsuit

On January 26th, owners of eight residential properties in Bernards Township, NJ filed a lawsuit against Ridge Baseball Club (RBC) and Bernards Township seeking to invalidate the Township’s December 12, 2023 Ordinance extending for 20 years and amending RBC’s 2004 lease of the Ridge Baseball Complex located on Valley Road in Basking Ridge which was set to expire this May.

The majority of the residents who filed the lawsuit own property on Fenwick Place – a development that has been built in the part few years.

The legal action seeks to annul the decades-old arrangement between RBC and the township that has saved Bernards Township taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars and through which RBC is permitted to manage and maintain the Complex at no cost to taxpayers.

Ridge Baseball Club notes that through this arrangement, they provide a public service to the community by, among other things, operating the only recreational youth baseball program available to the boys and girls of Bernards Township.

The residents who have collectively filed the lawsuit have expressed concerns about noise coming from the on-site batting cages, lights used for night games at the field, and parking issues that arise when there are multiple games and/or tournaments being held at the four-field facility.

Kevin and Dennis joined Jim Monaghan to discuss the history of youth baseball in Bernards Township, as well as what this lawsuit could mean to the future of youth baseball in the area.

The story was recently covered by Channel 7 Eyewitness News.

  • Author Ben Mezrich On How Twitter Broke Elon Musk

Elon Musk made a LOT of headlines Wednesday November 29, at his appearance at The New York Times DealBook Summit, where he told companies that were pulling their advertising dollars from X/Twitter, in VERY profane terms, that he didn’t need their money.

Since Musk purchased Twitter in April 2022, he changed the name, fired hundreds of employees, made a mess out of the blue check verification system, lost thousands of users, and watched the value of the platform plummet.

    And that’s just for starters.

Musk’s Tesla stock shares have taken a recent hit, one of his SpaceX Starship rockets had to be blown up during a recent test flight, and his personal reputation has taken a huge hit.

Ben Mezrich is a New York Times bestselling author whose new book Breaking Twitter: Elon Musk and the Most Controversial Corporate Takeover In History was recently published. He theorizes that Musk didn’t break Twitter. On the contrary, Twitter broke Musk.

  • Rock N Ruff

Greetings my animal-loving rock friends! (and Rock N’ Ruff supporters)

It’s Terrie Carr and I am so thrilled to bring Teddy and Harvey to WDHA’s Rock N’ Ruff this week!

These dogs are exceptional, with the most lovely dispositions, kind hearts, the ability to get along with everyone, and faces that will melt your heart.

Please check out their video and see how loving and amazing they are (and a guest appearance from Rock N’ Ruffer Franklin who was a part of the studio audience …lol…he’s so cute!)

Teddy and Harvey are from The Gingerbread House Rescue and Sanctuary  Gingerbread House Website – which we have been featuring for the past few weeks, highlighting the incredible small, senior, dogs they have available for adoption and the great work that they do.  And for info on adopting Teddy and Harvey, you can fill out an application right here! Gingerbread Application

Teddy and Harvey are purebred Pekinese babies and are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Unfortunately, their owner passed away and these sweet pups are looking for a second chance at a family and have SO much love to give.  I loved having them at the station! They are housebroken, well-behaved, and mellow, but still love to play and get along with other animals just fine. And they love to cuddle and give kisses, they are so affectionate. The Gingerbread House is committed to the care of their pups, so Teddy and Harvey have been fully vetted and are ready to go! And follow the WDHA Rock N’ Ruff page for all of our featured adoptable WDHA’s Rock N’ Ruff page

Thanks for supporting our animal rescue initiative for close to 14 years! And, thank you as always to Gingerbread Rescue.
