Here Are the Details For WDHA’s 2023 Students Change Hunger Campaign

Students Change Hunger is a friendly statewide food and fund drive competition for New Jersey schools, from preschool through college. Schools of all sizes across the state can participate. Last year, the participating schools raised more than 72,000 pounds of food and more than $40,000 to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. In total, these donated resources supported nearly 177,000 meals for neighbors in need. This year, the campaign runs until January 2024. Schools can register on CFBNJ’s website at cfbnj.org/studentschangehunger. Food insecurity isn't always visible to the naked eye, but it is a big problem here in New Jersey, even in some of the more affluent areas. Right now, there are nearly 750,000 New Jersey residents who fall under the umbrella of being food insecure including college students and senior citizens. Children aren't immune either; they make up more than 200,000 among food-insecure residents here in the Garden State.
