A popular Brazilian restaurant is eyeing its second location in New Jersey. According to NorthJersey.com, Fogo de Chão is planning to open a second restaurant in the Garden State at the Willowbrook Mall located in Wayne. The restaurant reportedly applied to the Wayne Township Planning Board for permission to open in the North Jersey mall.
Fogo de Chão is a global franchise that is famously known for its churrasco experience where guests can enjoy various cuts of prime meat. The restaurant offers premium cuts of beef, lamb, chicken, pork, and sausage carved tableside by chefs. They also offer a la carte seafood for non-meat lovers.
If the popular Brazilian restaurant secures the Willbrook Mall spot, it would be its second location in New Jersey. The first location of Fogo de Chão is set to open in Paramus at the Westfield Garden State Plaza early next year, the publication reports. The internationally-renown Brazilian steakhouse will be replacing the former Bar Louie space at the mall and is set to have two levels. An exact date for the opening has yet to be announced. When Fogo de Chão opens in Paramus it will be the chain’s first location in the Garden State.
At this time, the application for Wayne is under internal review.
Fogo de Chão has 70 locations in Brazil, Mexico, the Middle East, and the United States. The first location opened in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Their first United States location was in 1997 in Dallas, Texas.
