About

Chris SwendemanI’m a North Jersey boy, born and bred, that grew up rocking along with WDHA! I’ve been listening to rock since I was on a Boy Scouts trip at age 9 and one of the older guys played Led Zeppelin IV and I was instantly hooked for life! It only got better on Friday and Saturday nights as a kid watching shows like the U68 Power Hour and Headbanger’s Ball. It was truly love at first sight (and sound).

Music, sports, concerts, movies, binging TV shows and reading rock biographies are my favorite pastimes when I’m away from the radio dial. I’m a complete sports fanatic but ice hockey is by far my ultimate favorite. As far as movies go, I can’t remember what I did yesterday but I can rattle off obscure movie lines in everyday conversation at a moment’s notice.

I’ve never met a good rock show I didn’t want to attend but the ultimate good time to me is seeing a concert in the summer at the Arts Center in Holmdel. Nothing says summer in Jersey quite like that.

I’ll always be a rocker at heart but my music diversity can swing from Slayer to the Beastie Boys and Run DMC in a moment’s notice. My favorite bands are (but not limited to) Rush, Kiss, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Sammy Hagar, Rob Zombie, Sevendust, Pantera, Cheap Trick, Anything Corey Taylor is involved in, GnR, Godsmack, Myles Kennedy, Rival Sons, Def Leppard, Dorothy and Volbeat. Fun fact: I’m an absolute 80’s hair band junkie! Give me anything from the days of LA’s Sunset Strip and I’m a happy camper! I’m also a gigantic fan of the Rolling Stones, who are inherently greater than the Beatles, don’t try to change my mind.
