Jersey Magazine with Jim Monaghan

This week on Jersey Magazine, Jim Monaghan was joined by Vietnam veterans John Fernandez and Charlie Wuth to talk about the 2023 annual Veterans Music Fest coming to Belmar in a couple of weeks.

The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation is holding its annual Veterans Music Fest on November 11th, from 1-8 PM at D’Jais Bar, at 1801 Ocean Avenue in Belmar, New Jersey.

Hosted by the Veterans Foundation of America, the event is open for all people to join in, absorb the November air at the shore, listen to some great live music and honor and celebrate the sacrifices of those who have served.

There’s a great lineup of bands for this year’s festivities –

  • Midnight Ravers
  • Spider Daniels Band
  • Jump Back
  • The Bob DelRosso Band
  • The Incinerators
  • Peter Veteska and Blues Train
  • The Chuck Lambert Band

This year’s event is sponsored by Horizon NJ Health, NJEDA, NJSBDC, and the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce,

Tickets for the music festival are $20 and can be purchased here. Admission is free for veterans and active military.

All proceeds raised by the music fest will go toward supporting outdoor veteran therapy programs, including fishing and equine therapy.

If you would like more information about the event or would just like more information on how to show support for veterans in general, please visit the Veterans Foundation of America website at www.thevfa.org or contact Jeff Cantor at [email protected]

  • Rock N Ruff

    Hey Gang,

TC here and I LOVE doing the WDHA Rock N’ Ruff feature so much. We have helped find homes for so many amazing animals and that is due to YOU! Our listeners. Thank You!

This week I am happy to bring you the perfect puppy! Meet Liam- From Randolph Regional Animal Shelter in Randolph New Jersey. My friend, shelter manager Sunny Nowell told me he was the best and when I met him I fell in love.

Liam is 5 months old, a shepherd puppy mix, so loving, gentle, friendly and very smart. Liam also LOVES other dogs and goes from the shelter to doggie daycare many times a week where he is a rockstar – playing and making friends with all of the dogs and the people who work there. Liam was originally from Texas, in an overcrowded shelter and thankfully found his way to New Jersey where Sunny and the shelter folks fell in love with this sweet boy. Liam knows basic commands and is housebroken and ready to go! Again, he loves playing with other dogs and is a great, mannered playmate. You can see him in the video with his shelter buddy “Miss Pretty” who is also available for adoption via The Randolph Regional Animal Shelter (she will be featured next week!)

    Randolph Regional Animal Shelter LinkI

f you would like info on Liam or any of the Randolph animals up for adoption please reach out to the link above OR stop by the shelter at 97 Ironia Road in Mendham or call the shelter at 973-543-9333.  Sunny and the crew are the BEST and do great work and are so helpful with questions when you are adopting and if you would like to foster to see if one of the shelter residents fits your home, the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter “Foster To Adopt” program is GREAT so please inquire!

    Opt To Adopt!

  • Coach Sheets' Ride In

Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship.

These quick hits may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships.

This week, Coach Sheets reminds us that we need to take care of ourselves…it’s not a fashion show out there.
