Formed in Boston, one of the most renowned rock bands was formed, their names are ingrained in music history forever through iconic hits like “Walk this Way” and “Sweet Emotion”. If you haven’t guessed it yet, we are talking about a WDHA favorite—Aerosmith!

From the beginning, the band has had a consistent line-up of members in guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and vocalist Steven Tyler since the band’s conception. Not only are the band’s members committed to their craft, but they have a great bond with one another, creating synergy that can is best displayed at any of their live performances.

Throughout Aerosmith’s six-decade long career, they have released a wide range of music from iconic albums such as Toys in The Attic (1975), and Get A Grip (1993), to ballads and some hard-hitting music, to some incredible anthems that they are most known for creating like, “Dream On”, “Janie’s Got a Gun”, and “Crazy”.

Along with their incredible success on music sales, they have also won numerous awards, including, American Music Awards for “Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group” (3 times), Grammy Awards for “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal” (3 times), and MTV Awards for “Best Metal/Hard Rock Video” (4 times), and “Video of the Year”.

Aerosmith has also been given even higher accolades like being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and earning a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame for their unwavering relevancy and impact on pop culture. They also have been partnered with Disney since 1999 for their Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.

As of most recent, Aerosmith released their latest album in April of 2022 1971: The Road Starts Hear, and they intend to finish off their Peace Out Farewell Tour over the next two years, as it got cut incredibly short in 2023 due to an injury to Steven Tyler.

Aerosmith’s history will be well intertwined with Rock and Roll history, inspiring countless artists and leaving an impact on many not only through music but their impact on pop culture as well.
