Metal With The Mikes

Listen to Mike Anthony from 3pm to 7pm all week for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Five Finger Death Punch with Marilyn Manson and Slaughter To Prevail at the PNC Bank Arts Center on Monday August 5th!

Five Finger Death Punch, commonly shortened to just 5FDP or FFDP, hails from Las Vegas, Nevada and was formed in 2005 by guitarist Zoltan Bathory and Former drummer Jeremy Spencer. The group released their first album The Way of the Fist in 2007 which features the single “The Bleeding”, one of their most played songs, and peaked at number 107 on the Billboard 200 chart. Shortly after their studio debut, Five Finger Death Punch proceeded to open for Korn’s “Family Values” tour as well as their “Bitch We Have A Problem” tour, followed by supporting Disturbed on their Indestructible tour.

Between the moderate success of their debut and opening for already well-established bands, Five Finger Death Punch’s popularity rapidly increased, with their second album War Is the Answer (2009) reaching number 7 on the Billboard 200, number 3 on the Top Hard Rock Albums, and number 4 on the Top Rock Albums charts. The album also features their second most-played song in their cover of “Bad Company” by Bad Company. Fast forward to now, Five Finger Death Punch is consistently touring the world and is even currently opening for Metallica, has won numerous awards, and released nine total studio albums, many of which topped multiple charts and have been certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA.

One of rock’s most infamous and notorious artists Marilyn Manson formed his group, originally named Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, in 1989. The group thrives off the idea that no press is bad press, engaging in shocking behavior on and offstage and writing songs with anti-religious, sexual, and violent lyrics. Despite the negative posts about such behaviors and lyrics, the group has enjoyed extreme success, with eleven total studio albums including Antichrist Superstar (1996), Mechanical Animals (1998), and the international-chart-topping The Golden Age of Grotesque (2003), hit singles such as “The Beautiful People”, “The Dope Show”, and “The Fight Song”, and many worldwide headlining tours.

Easily one of metals fastest-growing deathcore acts Slaughter to Prevail originally come from Yekaterinburg, Russia but are now based in Orlando, Florida. The group has only released an EP followed by two albums and a small handful of singles between 2022 and 2024, but the explosion of support following the singles “Agony” and especially “Demolisher” off of 2021’s Kostolom sent the band to new heights. The band has been touring solo for the last few years, not wanting to have their shows limited by time constraints that come with multi-band tours, and have been announced to be playing a handful of US festivals this summer.

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.
