Des Rocs

It’s Terrie Carr and I hope your summer is rocking! Hard to believe it’s August!
As you know I love finding the next generation of ROCK STARS!

New DHA rock is a large part of why our listeners tune in and turn on.
Every few months I like to post artists who are on our radar who are unique, talented and carrying the torch for rock and roll!

There seems to be a more organic, heavy guitar sound emerging, and killer vocals are always prominent.
What I really appreciate about the five newbies listed below is that no one on the list sounds the same.

WDHA is here for new music discovery for our listeners….we have been breaking new music for nearly five decades and there is no way we are stopping now!
Check out some of my NEW faves below…….

  • Austin Meade - Blackout

He loves Metal, Classic Rock, Hair Metal and Emo and it shows! A former drummer, awesome guitar player and son of a pastor, Austin Meade is the PERFECT blend of what I call “fresh and familiar” and his latest tune “Blackout” is a HUGE ear worm for me. Big guitars with that beautiful fuzz distortion, cool beats, and a blasting vocal vibe. Austin also looks like he could be a member of The Doobie Brothers circa 1975! LOVE his look! Definitely an artist to watch, please check him out and you will become a fan too.

  • Des Rocs - Never Ending Moment

When Danny Rocco decided music was his life and calling, Des Rocs was born.  Crafting music in his living room, opening stadiums for The Rolling Stones, and touring the world opening for bands like Badflower and The Cult (plus playing giant festivals) is getting Des new fans every day and he was tremendous as the first guest up at our WDHA Parking Lot Party!

  • White Reaper - Fog Machine

This Kentucky based band IS rock and roll. I first became aware of them when they covered Metallic’s “Sad But True” for the Metallica “Blacklist” tribute record and have been wowed by their catalog.
Their latest record “Asking For A Ride” is fantastic.

  • Moon Fever - Getting Loud

Carrying the torch for Seattle rock, influenced by Alice In Chains, Royal Blood and Queens Of The Stone Age, Moon Fever is all about “being real” and it shows inn their live performances and motto of what rock and roll is. Vocalist Triston Bracht say’s If I didn’t have music, I don’t know what I’d be doing,” “I hope what we’re doing in Moon Fever makes an impact on you.”

Cool feel with this band who I hear kill it live! Can’t wait to see them…..

  • Hannah Cutt

Soulful, honest and soul bearing “Hanna Cutt” has a killer vocal range and a story to tell.

Hanna Cutt is recording artist living in Los Angeles and her awesome sound chronicles her journey of sobriety at the young age of 23.

Reminiscent of Dorothy with powerful vocals and the honesty and authenticity to back it up, check her out- you won’t be disappointed.
