Happy Mothers Day Rockers!
Mom has long been the inspiration for some cool rock songs so as we head into the day that is all about MAMA, let’s pick out a few favorites.

• Ozzy Osbourne- Mama I'm Coming Home

  Written by Ozzy and Lemmy with Sharon in mind, this amazing song from “No More Tears” is a classic.

• Danzig- Mother

  New Jersey’s Glenn Danzig Metals up mom in this dark, growly tune that is sure to bring out the horns!

• Genesis- Mama

  One of my favorites from the 80’s – Mama is a creepy journey and one of the coolest vibe songs EVER!

   

• Aerosmith- Mama Kin

  Aerosmith- singing for mom- come on? What could be better?!

• The Rolling Stones- Mother's Little Helper

  Help for mom? Why not? The Stones have their own solution….no questions asked! What a great jam!

• Lenny Kravitz- Always On the Run

  “My Mama Said”!!!! This tune also features Lenny’s High School pal Slash on guitar is such a 90’s classic. Advice from mom, sung by Lenny and accompanied by a guitar god……with a horn section…..SO GOOD!

• Quiet Riot- Mama Weer All Crazy Now

  Originally recorded by the band Slade – but the QR version is so perfect! Long live the 80’s!

• Pink Floyd- Mother

  Mom immortalized in “The Wall” – Such an eerie song of questions and a classic rock staple.

• Queen - Tie Your Mother Down

  From the 1976 Queen masterpiece “A Day At The Races”, every time I hear about the party gown and pigtail down I’m ready to ROCK! This video is magic too- Long live Freddie!!

• Fountains Of Wayne- Stacy's Mom

  A New Jersey band, super fun tune, great video- Come on….everyone knew at least one “Stacy’s Mom”!

• Metallica- Mama Said

  A tune written for James Hetfield’s mom, “Mama Said” is on the 1996 release “Load” and has a beautiful message and a stripped down country style.

   

• Lita Ford - Lisa AND Mother (TIE)

  Lisa is a beautiful tune that Lita wrote for her beloved mother- This one always brings a tear to my eye.

  The video is beautiful with some really personal moments.

  Mother is a song Lita wrote for her estranged sons Rocco and James.
