Drummer John Dolmayan and bassist Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down have been writing new material, but it’s not clear if it’s for SOAD or if it’s for a different project.
Dolmayan shared a shot of Odadjian on Instagram, citing that Shavo was a strong writer, and for everyone to “stay tuned.”
Loudwire shares that “Both Daron Malakian and Serj Tankian have stated in recent interviews that attempts at coming together on ideas for the next System of a Down album have stalled, with Malakian moving forward with a long in the works Scars on Broadway album and Tankian redirecting material he wrote for System to a new solo EP.”
In the meantime, we’ll keep hoping they come back together for some new material.
