Maynard James Keenan Says Tool Album Won’t Be Out in April
Remember how we all got our hopes up about Tool’s album potentially coming out in April? According to Maynard James Keenan, that timetable is not happening.
Keenan responded with a flat out “No” to a fan on Twitter asking if the long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days will be coming out in April.
The April release date rumor came via a fan-shot video of Danny Carey at a meet-and-greet at the recent National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show.
A fan asked Carey for an update on the new album. Carey responded, “Yeah, it should be out mid-April. That’s the plan anyway.” (Question and answer takes place at the 0:33 mark in the video.)
The video above was the latest update pertaining to Tool’s new album since early January when Keenan tweeted out, “Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking”
At this point, I have a feeling I’ll be like Rose from Titanic talking about this album by the time it comes out.
