24-year-old Patrick Mahomes started the match strong, scoring the first touchdown of the game. This brought the score to 7-3. At halftime, the score was tied 10-10.
Mahomes had a rocky third quarter, throwing his second interception, which led to San Fransisco scoring and taking a 20-10 lead. At the beginning of the 4th quarter, Mahomes was sacked but turned things around with a 44-yard pass to #10 Tyreek Hill. Afterward, with a touchdown from #26 Damien Williams, the Chiefs led 20-17. Later, Williams scored again, making the game 30-20 (31-20 after the kick for the extra point was good). In total, the Chiefs scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
The final score was 31-20.

The MVP of the game was, unsurprisingly, Patrick Mahomes. The quarterback completed 26-41 passes for 286 years, had two interceptions, and also had two touchdowns. At 24, Mahomes is the youngest player to ever win a Super Bowl MVP honor.
