Jersey Magazine 10-16-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan talks with Steve Hayward and Eric D’Agati, both from the Baseball Health Network, talking about their upcoming free webinar this Wednesday.
Steve Hayward is the founder of the Baseball Health Network (BHN). A former two-sport star athlete at St. Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale, Steve earned a scholarship to Seton Hall University and was ultimately drafted by the Boston Red Sox. His passion for helping develop young pitchers led to the founding of the BHN with Eric Dagati and Dr. Christopher Ahmad, the head team physician for the New York Yankees. Steve talks about the epidemic of arm injuries – especially at the youth level – and this week’s free BHN webinar with himself, Eric, and Dr. Ahmad, designed to help players plan their offseason training to get ready for the 2023 spring season.
Eric D’Agati is the Performance Director for the Baseball Health Network. He talks about this coming Wednesday’s free webinar and the topics he will be addressing along with Steve Hayward and Dr. Ahmad.
For complete details on this Wednesday’s webinar, including a link to register, go to the Baseball Health Network’s Facebook page.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff introduces us to Phineus Wilson from Eleventh Hour Rescue. Phineus is happiest when he is right next to you or in your lap. He is crate-trained and housebroken. Phineus also walks nicely on a leash and does great in the car. He is very food motivated, eager to please and knows basic commands. Phineus loves playing with his toys and will entertain himself tearing the stuffing out of them.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This morning, Coach Sheets takes a couple of minutes to address mental health and what role you can take with friends and family.
