Dog-friendly Bar To Open At Jersey Shore
Soon you will be able to bring your furry best friends to this Jersey Shore bar. The Good Dog Bar is scheduled to open in the Chelsea section of Atlantic City in March, NJ Advance Media reports.
Married couple Heather Gleason and Dave Garry own Good Dog Bar. After the Atlantic City location is officially open, it will be the couple’s second restaurant.
“This one is going to be the Atlantic City version of the bar in Philly,” Garry said.
Gleason and Gary had to have put some thought into scouting out the location. The bar is conveniently located across the street from the grassy O’Donnell Memorial Park.
The bar covers 5,000 square feet of space. It will have 115 seats, 75 tables, two bars, and a dog-friendly outside area. The outside area will be able to seat at least 50 people.
As for the menu, it will be similar to the Philly location but have new additions such as a poke bowl, a vegan cheesesteak, short rib grilled cheese, and mac & cheese. They also will include local Jersey breweries on tap. Well-known beers such as Miller Lite and Coors Light will also be available. The bar will also offer wine and a craft cocktail menu.
The couple first looked at the property in 2020 after the place had been gutted. Garry, Gleason, and their two rescued dogs have also decided to move to Jersey from Philly.
“I was blown away by the reaction of people,” said Garry. “And the pride in the city, they’re happy to see people back it up with things like, not just opening a bar, but moving down at the same time.”
Gleason added, “There’s a lot of things I’m excited about down here but in general, working with everybody in AC has been amazing.”
