80’s at 8 Tuesday 3-28-23 Rockturnal With Scotty B
On tonight’s 80’s at 8 the first track was from Loverboy’s 1989 compilation album Big Ones. “Big Ones” is an iconic piece of rock music history. Released in 1989, the album features some of the band’s most well-known hits, including “Working for the Weekend” and “Lovin’ Every Minute of It.” It was also the last album to feature the original lineup of the band. The album’s title is fitting, as it truly showcases the biggest and best hits from Loverboy’s career up to that point. Along with the aforementioned tracks, “Big Ones” also features fan favorites like “Turn Me Loose” and “The Kid is Hot Tonight.” It includes 3 new studio tracks: For You which is the track I played in the 80’s at 8 tonight, “Ain’t Looking for Love” and “Too Hot”. Big Ones was released the same year Loverboy decided to break up a second time. Another compilation album would not be released until 5 years later. Loverboy’s “Big Ones” is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates 80’s rock. It’s a true representation of the band’s talent and legacy, and a testament to the enduring power of rock and roll. unfortunately , a music video was not made for Loverboy’s song For You, but you can listen to it here:
The second track in tonight’s 80’s at 8 is from the year 1986 by Canadian Rockers Honeymoon Suite. It’s from their second album The Big Prize. The album features the bands biggest hit in the U. S. titled Feel It Again. I rocked the second single released from the album titled Bad Attitude. It is featured in a sequence in the final episode of Miami Vice that aired 4 years later In 1990. That was a great episode. I was so bummed that Miami Vice ended. Miami Vice is my all time favorite 80’s tv show. I have went back and watched episodes and well… let’s just say the show did not age well. I do not care I loved it back then.
Bad Attitude is a classic example of Honeymoon Suites signature sound. With its driving guitar riffs and pulsing bassline, “Bad Attitude” is a high-energy anthem about living life on your own terms. The lyrics encourage listeners to embrace their rebellious side and push back against the rules and expectations of society.
“Bad Attitude” is a timeless classic that perfectly captures the spirit of rock and roll. With its catchy melody, defiant lyrics, and infectious energy, it’s no wonder that the song remains a favorite among fans of Honeymoon Suite.
I could not find the Official music video for Bad Attitude I guess they did not make one. I saw this video of Bad Attitude on Honeymoon Suites Youtube page. Check it out here:
