Jersey Magazine 10-23-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan replays his interview with Elizabeth Roithmayr-Clemens from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
September was Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. As you may know, suicide is the 12th leading cause of death in the United States.
Elizabeth Roithmayr-Clemens is the Executive Director, New Jersey for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The organization does amazing work in helping to prevent suicide including a number of “Out of the Darkness” fundraising walks in New Jersey during the fall months. WDHA’s Terrie Carr will be participating in the Essex County walk on October 30.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff introduces us to Phineus Wilson from Eleventh Hour Rescue. Phineus is happiest when he is right next to you or in your lap. He is crate-trained and housebroken. Phineus also walks nicely on a leash and does great in the car. He is very food motivated, eager to please and knows basic commands. Phineus loves playing with his toys and will entertain himself tearing the stuffing out of them.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. This morning, Coach Sheets challenges us to walk it before we talk it.

Two types of people:
• Those that TALK the TALK
• Those that WALK the WALK
Which one are YOU?
What have we been TALKING about in our lives that we need to stop chattering about… and start WALKING right towards!
