Tonight’s 80’s at 8 started with Boston’s We’re Ready. It was the second single released from their 1986 album Third Stage. From the opening riff to the final chorus, the song is a showcase of Boston’s trademark sound, blending soaring vocals, searing guitar solos, and epic arena rock arrangements.

It does not appear on Boston’s 1997 Greatest Hits Album which is weird. “We’re Ready” is a classic rock anthem that showcases Boston’s trademark sound and their unwavering commitment to quality and excellence. Rock the Night, was released in 1985, the song is one of the band’s most recognizable hits and a staple of 80s rock radio. With its infectious hooks, soaring vocals, and anthemic chorus, “Rock the Night” encapsulates the spirit of the era and the enduring appeal of arena rock. Rock the Night was released in two different versions about a year and a half apart. in 1985 it was released as a single from the soundtrack to the Swedish movie On The Loose, and in 1986 as the second single from their 1986 album The Final Countdown. Rock The Night reached #22 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and #30 on The Billboard Hot 100.
