New Jersey: What’s Our Best Coffee Shop?
Though major coffee chains can be found in every city neighborhood, locally owned small roasters continuously win the hearts of many Americans. Tasting Table recently published their “Best Coffee Shop in Every State Report.” New Jersey’s best coffee shop selection is an establishment that dates back to 1938.
Grover’s Mill Coffee is described by Tasting Table as a place where “you’ll also find some fantastic hard-to-find- beans, like Dominican Red Honey coffee.”
The menu is creative with coffee selections that include a variety of combinations. The food menu includes egg bites, pastries and sandwiches. In fact, they just updated and added menu items in January. Grover’s Mill is located approximately 20 minutes from Trenton.
What’s Their Story?
Grover’s Mill has been family owned and operated since 2005. Thematically, they have fun with the fact that they are based in what they call the “Home of the 1938 War of the World’s Invasion,” radio show hoax. They make entertainment part of their atmosphere, even hosting open mic nights every Tuesday.
The coffee is small batch roasted in-house. Their brews are made fresh. Seasonal, nitro, and frozen options are available. Furthermore, you can also purchase Grover’s Mill coffee bags, merch items, and coffee spice rubs online. Finally, a small marketplace that features the work of local artists and writers is often on display in-store.
Best In New Jersey
To identify a top selection in each state Tasting Table said they “talked to locals all over the country, hit the road, and, yes, even consulted some experts on the internet.” Grover’s Mill hit all the marks in the Garden state. They are sandwiched between Princeton and the state capital, where there are plenty of small batch roasters. However, with Grover Mill’s friendly atmosphere, crafty concoctions, and tasty treats they were selected as New Jersey’s best coffee shop.
