WDHA’s Rock N’ Ruff With Roger- From Gingerbread House (Video)
I love meeting new rescue friends and this week on WDHA’s Rock N’ Ruff our friends from The Gingerbread House Animal Rescue and Sanctuary stopped by with the most amazing little senior Chihuahua – Roger, who we all completely fell in love with!
Roger is a super sweet and loving little old man who loves being with his people, chasing after a tossed toy, going for mild walks, tummy scratches, and just giving snuggles and kisses. He is very well socialized, and loves meeting people and being out and social- he also enjoys being held (which you can see as I scooped him right up!)
Roger was dumped at a NYC shelter by his owner.(How could anyone do this to such a sweet little guy?) He is a Long-Haired Chihuahua, approximately 10-11 years old, 7 pounds, perfect blood work (full senior panel), perfect full body xrays (heart, lungs, no arthritis, etc), has been brought UTD on vaccines, dewormed, chipped, had a dental with extractions, heartworm negative, neutered, and was groomed. He’s good to go!
Roger has been doing very well with the other small breed pups in his foster home although he would not mind to be your on hand only so he doesn’t “need” to have other furry friends. He is housebroken and also knows how to use potty pads if necessary- He’s so awesome!
Given his tiny size, Roger is looking for a home with no small children and small pups too.
If you think Roger may be a good fit for you, please reach out to the fine folks at The Gingerbread House Animal Sanctuary.
Here is some info on their adoption process-
Adoption Details:
Roger’s adoption donation is $450 (all vetting has been done, see above).
A veterinary reference is required.
An approved application is required for all adoptions.
And considering you may not know too much about this fine organization here is more info on The Gingerbread House-
About the Rescue:
The Gingerbread House Sanctuary & Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in northern New Jersey. They welcome all small-breed pups that need a new home and are passionate about saving tiny senior and hospice pups that have special needs due to their age or medical conditions and that would likely be put down if left in a shelter. They provide exceptional medical rehabilitation care to their dogs. It is also the first time they have received any proper vetting.
Whether they have a few weeks, months, or years to live, they will have the very best of everything for their remaining time. Pups that are young enough and/or healthy enough are adopted to loving homes after all vetting is completed. As a nonprofit organization, all donations are 100% tax deductible and go directly to the medical fund for the pups. They are a foster-based rescue (no building or overhead) and run by volunteers (no salaries). Thank you for helping their mission to save tiny seniors!
In conclusion, I loved meeting Roger and Lynn and we hope he finds the BEST home- Roger deserves it!
