We love metal here in Jersey! We really do, from classic bands like Sabbath and Maiden to modern heavy artists like Godsmack and Beartooth. And especially at WDHA, we have an affinity for getting loud and heavy. Heck, each Friday night at 11pm I team up with my colleague Mike Bufis for Metal With The Mikes. I wanted to take a look at 5 Cool Heavy Metal Music Videos.

Each weekday at 4pm, I post a question of the day to the DHA Facebook page where I ask about bands, songs, concerts, etc. Then I wait for the responses to roll in. I take those responses at 5pm and put a block of music together for your ride home called “First Call Last Call.”

It’s a fun feature because I get to read stories from people or see answers of bands that I never thought of! Recently, I asked for listeners to give me some of their favorite “Heavy” tunes. That leads me to think of some of the great heavy videos that have come out over the years. There is quite a long list of amazing videos to list.

Some are performance videos. It’s always a lot of fun to see your favorite band playing in an abandoned warehouse or even up on stage in a large arena with the crowd going crazy. Other videos tell a story or have lots of imagery to keep your eyes going crazy and keep your mind guessing as to the meaning of the lyrics.

No matter which type of video you prefer, there’s something for everyone. And the biggest bands to the newest up-and-comers all try to put their best foot forward when putting out a video to go with their song.

So how about we dive in and take a look at 5 Cool Heavy Metal Music Videos.

  • ENTER SANDMAN - METALLICA

So creepy with the snake crawling all ovber the bed lol! But really well done as Metallica reaches a wider audience with their self-titled album!

  • NIGHTMARE - AVENGED SEVENFOLD

This institution does not seem like a place you want to be in.  A7X comes out of the gates swinging after losing their brother Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan.

  • SPEAK - PANTERA

Godsmack brings it here.  Good looking ladies, Sully on a fast cars.  It’s definitely a  rock video!

  • COWBOYS FROM HELL - PANTERA

Gone is the glam rock of their earlier efforts.  This video shows how Pantera could hype up a crowd!!

  • PAINKILLER - JUDAS PRIEST

This song is a masterclass in metal writing.  And the video showcases the band playing in some sort of factory or abandoned building with a cool grainy black and white effect.
