Dorothy at Rock The Rock Fest 2023

Dorothy is a Rockstar! And the rumor is she is working on her fourth album.

Our WDHA History With Dorothy-

It’s Terrie Carr and I will never forget the first time I saw Dorothy Martin and her band “Dorothy” live. In 2016 I was at Webster Hall in New York City attending a Halestorm/Lita Ford show and the dynamic Dorothy was opening the show. NOW, I had heard the new Dorothy release “Rock Is Dead” and the bands first single “Raise Hell”, caught my attention, but I never imagined how floored I would be by this new band with their DYNAMIC, super talented vocalist. DOROTHY MARTIN– I was floored.

Dorothy is an effortless singer. I went to the station the next day and we started playing Dorothy’s music. Seeing them live sealed THAT deal! I also invited them to the station to perform for contest winners a few weeks later and the rest is history. I also couldn’t believe how quickly the WDHA listeners responded. Dorothy is quite simply one of the most authentic people that I have met in the music industry. Since that time she has been at the station multiple times, played our Raven Room Listener Experience, played a show at Wellmont for us, was a part of our WDHA Rock The Rock Fest 2023 lineup and is always up for coming on the show to chat.

The Dorothy Catalog

Rock Is Dead – 2016

28 Days In The Valley – 2018

Gifts From The Holy Ghost – 2022

Dorothy has also collaborated with many rock artists over the past few years, breaking ground, being the first female to sing with some of rock’s biggest voices, and lending her (as I call it) “Dorothy-Ness” to some great tunes- Check out my recent chat with Scott Stapp on Reconnect with Rockers where he talks about having Dorothy on – “If These Walls Could Talk”

  • 1. Dorothy With Nita Strauss - Victorious

A fantastic collaboration from the incredible Nita Strauss 2023 solo release “Call Of The Wild” , “Victorious” is an empowerment anthem was one of the most dynamic songs of 2023. Listen and you will feel stronger!

  • 2. Dorothy With Scott Stapp- If These Walls Could Talk

Scott Stapp’s latest solo record “Higher Power” is so powerful and really takes Scott to the next level.  His duet with Dorothy is an album highlight. “If These Walls Could Talk” is one of those “special songs” and MUST be released as a “Higher Power” single.

  • 3. Dorothy with Staind- Better Days

The “new” version of “Better Days” from Staind’s successful latest release “Confessions Of The Fallen” , features Dorothy and it’s the first time that the band collaborated with another vocalist.  Dorothy helps perfect an already great tune. Sharing harmonies with Aaron Lewis and her natural ability to “fit in where she is needed”, Dorothy takes “Better Days” to the next level. I think it could be the bands 3rd number one on the rock charts from this album (behind “Lowest In Me” and “Here and Now”)

  • 4. Dorothy with Slash - Key To The Highway

  • 5. Dorothy with Halestorm

Not a single- But WAAAAAAAAAAAY too cool to leave off my list! Covering FOGHAT?! STOP!
