There are so many different topics when it comes to lyrics in rock songs. Drugs and alcohol seem to be a very popular one. While Love and sex and everything in between are a close second. But there’s also another popular lyrical theme that you don’t always think of. Rock and Roll! It’s mentioned and discussed in so many songs and there are some really good ones. Now, not every band talks about rock and roll or being in a band. But there’s probably more than you think. It’s kind of cool too. Some tell stories and others just mention how great rock music is. And that’s no lie lol!! Each song is different and unique and those that do focus on the rock genre usually paint it in such a great light that it’s awesome!
I have a feature on my show at 5 pm weekdays where I play a themed block of music. The block of tunes is based on responses to the question of the day posted to our station’s Facebook page. The other day, I asked this question. Name A Rock Song that talks about Rock N Roll or Being A Band. I got an amazing amount of responses….it was overwhelming. Although it gave me a lot of songs to pick from to put together the block of music!
What’s great about doing that feature is that so many listeners think of songs that I forgot about or weren’t top of mind. They pick stuff that really hits the nail on the head and it’s great! I love reading through people’s opinions and varied responses to my questions each and every day. I always think I know so much about music and then after I post a question, I realize that there’s always more to learn lol!
