New Jersey Department of Health Announces Opening of Coronavirus Hotline
The New Jersey Department of Health has opened a call center for the public to ask questions about the Coronavirus. The 24-hour hotline is being operated by the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System.
If you’re looking for additional information or to express any concerns in regards to the Coronavirus, you can call the hotline at 1-800-222-1222. It will be staffed by trained healthcare professionals and the call is always free.
“Although the risk to the public remains low, we understand that residents have questions about this new virus,” Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said. “This hotline provides factual information to alleviate fear and dispel rumors.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed today (January 30) that the illness has spread between two people in the United States. This marks the first case of person-to-person spread of the Coronavirus in this country.
