Jersey Magazine 6-26-22
Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners.
June is Veteran Suicide and PTSD Awareness Month. For our veterans, the pressure of their service to our country – whether in or out of combat zones – can lead to serious issues both during and after their military commitment.
Addiction specialist Sarah O’Brien works for Ark Behavioral Health, which services veterans throughout the U.S. and will shortly be opening a facility here in New Jersey. Sarah discusses the issues so many of our veterans face, what the causes are, and how these men and women can be helped.
Jack Curry is well-known to New York Yankees fans as a studio analyst for the team’s pre/post-game shows on the YES Network. A New York Times bestselling author, Jack and Paul O’Neill have co-written a brand new book called Swing and A Hit – Nine Innings of What Baseball Taught Me.
Jack and Jim Monaghan talk about the new book, the local pro teams, and since Jack is a big music guy, some of what he’s listening to these days.
This week, Rock N’ Ruff presents two pups from Jersey Girls Animal Rescue! Meet Fred and Ethel, a brother and sister bonded pair who have been together their entire lives. They are around 8 years old, boxer mixes and absolutely love ALL people.
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. The ability to “ride the waves” and continue to grow through both the hills and the valleys is crucial to personal and professional growth.

Most of us see GROWTH as climbing the face of a mountain…
But remember the lessons of Grit & Resiliency that we find deep in those valleys!
The ability to get back to work without seeing the light is superhuman!
