When Do We Lose Our Sense Of Fun?
I think I can speak for most of us when I say that I like to have fun. I got into the radio business, because not only do I enjoy music, but I wanted a fun job.
I like an adult beverage every now and again. I like watching live music. Hell, I like to just call up one of my old buddies and laugh about the good old days.
However, I’ll admit that it seems harder and harder to fit in the fun as I get older. I am raising two children with my wife, holding down a full-time gig, maintaining a home, etc. It’s a lot as most of you know.
That brings me to a recent survey I stumbled across. It was a bit of a bummer because it found that we lose our sense of fun at the age of 27. That’s basically when adulthood kicks in for most of us and the carefree days of childhood are behind us.
I mean, for me…..seems like that might be accurate. I got married at 27. Bought a home. Was pursuing my career, and really haven’t stopped “going”. In fact, things just seem to get more and more stressful and “grown-up”.
How about you? Do you feel like we lose our sense of fun at 27? After reading this I really want to focus on being the most energetic, pumped, and enthusiastic person I know! Always up for a good time. We’ll see how long that lasts lol. As for now, check out what this survey says respondents miss most about being a kid.
These are some of the top responses…….
- School holidays
- Waking up without a care in the world (no worries about the day ahead)
- Having someone cook for you, do your laundry, grocery shop for you, and take care of you when you’re sick
- Waking up feeling excited
- Spending a lot of time outdoors
- Seeing friends every day at school/having friends over after school/going to friend’s houses
- Falling asleep sleep quickly and easily … and staying asleep
- Not worrying about money
- The newness of everything (flying for the first time, going to the movies for the first time)
- Feeling like you could be anything you wanted when you grew up
- Napping
