New Jersey State Troopers Pull Man From Truck Seconds Before Explosion
On Monday, March 2, two New Jersey State Troopers pulled a man out of a burning tractor-trailer seconds before it exploded. The accident occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. in Bridgewater Township.
The driver ran off the right side of the road in the express lanes which led him to strike the guardrail and bridge abutment before becoming engulfed in flames.
State Police Lieutenant Edward Ryer was on his way from work when he witnessed the crash while Trooper Robert Tarleton was nearby at a vehicle stop. Both Troopers then worked together to pull the driver from the burning cab.
The New Jersey State Police revealed that the driver was transported to Morristown Medical Center for evaluation. According to a press statement, he sustained minor injuries and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
