Toll Hikes Coming To New Jersey Turnpike And Garden State Parkway
The New Jersey Turnpike Authority voted on Wednesday (May 28) to increase tolls on both the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
AP News reported that the board’s 7-0 vote came despite pleas from many to delay it along with approval for a $24 billion construction plan that the hike will fund.
The New Jersey Turnpike tolls will rise by 36% with a 27% increase on the Garden State Parkway.
The toll hikes will go into effect on September 13 with the Turnpike Authority adjusting it annually starting in 2022.

Well it looks like I will not be using the Turnpike or Parkway anymore. Give or take 20 dollars round trip to drive my own vehicle somwhere, whether it is DTS or to just head up north from the Princeton area. That's insanity. I'll go toll free from here on out. @NJGov @njdotcom
