The WDHA Morning Jolt Presents Football Made Easy For Swifties
Unless you’ve been COMPLETELY out of the loop for the past week or so, you know that Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is dating Taylor Swift. Tay Tay showed up at last Sunday’s game with Kelce’s Mom and the Internet just about imploded.
Swifties have completely thrown their clout in the direction of the Chiefs and Kelce, sending his jersey sales soaring 400% in just two days following Swift’s appearance at the game.
As you might expect, the announcement this past week that Swift would be at tonight’s Jets-Chiefs game sent Swifties into an absolute frenzy, scrambling to figure out this thing we call football.
So for the benefit of Swifties who may have just discovered the NFL, Jim Monaghan and Chris Swendeman from the WDHA Morning Jolt – with some MAJOR assistance from Ellen from the WDHA sales department – put together this short introduction to pro football.
How much of an impact have the Swifties already made with the revelation of her latest beau?
Have you tried to get a ticket for tonight’s Jets-Chiefs game at MetLife Stadium? According to StubHub, ticket sales for the game have skyrocketed, with sales in a single day more than doubling the previous record for this season, aside from the team’s opening game with the debut of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The average TV audience for an NFL game this season has been around 17.4 million people.
Nearly 29 million tuned into the Chiefs-Bears game when Swift was shown on camera in one of the luxury suites. And trust us when we tell you it wasn’t because the game suddenly turned into this nail-biter of a contest.
The podcast hosted by the Kelce Brothers – Travis and Jason who plays for the Eagles – soared to number one on Apple. (Side Note – their podcast, featuring a lot of Tier One NFL guests, is HIGHLY entertaining.)
Even LinkedIn got in on the act, noting the economic impact Swift has had on the NFL in just a short time.
Face it – right now, it’s Taylor Swift’s World and we’re just along for the ride.
