A Great New Hangover Cure For The Holiday Season
Around this time of year, we go to a lot of holiday gatherings…..and indulge in some drinks. Let’s take a look at a great new hangover cure for after a hard night of partying!
There was a recent survey that found that the average adult will spend three days hungover in December. Ugggh, I can already feel the headache and achiness in my body now! But sometimes it’s worth it when someone’s got that delicious spiked eggnog or holiday specialty cocktail. You just want to indulge and enjoy! Well, when you do that, unfortunately sometimes the tradeoff is a rough next morning.
You might have your hangover cure. I tend to wake up, take two Tylenol, pound some Gatorade, and eat a piece of buttered toast. Does it help? I don’t know, but we all have our go-tos.
Here’s another option that you could add to your arsenal of weapons to battle hangovers. A doctor and TV personality in England, Dr. Zoe Williams, has come up with a hangover sandwich.
It sounds pretty tasty and if it helps with that terrible hangover, that’s a nice bonus!
First, start with the bread. Take a piece of whole grain and a piece of white. That’s a terrific fiber and protein mix. What goes inside? Some eggs (any style), bacon or a veggie alternative, and avocado.
Now, not only does this taste good, but there’s science behind why it could help with your hangover.
Eggs have a tone of B12 and cysteine which can help to detoxify your liver. The avocado is loaded with potassium to balance electrolytes and the bacon can help to replenish lost salts.
The doctor also suggests washing it down with some water or even black tea for the best results.
So there you go. Enjoy a night out with friends, coworkers, or family and if you wind up having a few too many drinks, you have a new hangover cure to try!
