Seen I want to be completely transparent, so I’m going to say this now. I am a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. So, what I’m about to say in this article you may want to take with a grain of salt. LOL! Like many of you, I tuned in to the Super Bowl last night and watched a pretty exciting, close game, go into Over Time. And when it all was said and done……..the Kansas City Chiefs were crowned victorious. Here’s why the Chiefs winning another Super Bowl is bad for fans.
Why I am Unhappy
The main reason I’m unhappy with the result of last night’s game is fatigue. Now, again, I’m an Eagles fan. However, how many people have you talked to today who expressed their frustration that Kansas City won again? Heck, I’ve talked to several in the weeks leading up to the game that were frustrated the Chiefs were even in the Super Bowl!!
There are people who like to see a team become a dynasty that is unstoppable. And then you have the other side – people who become bored with watching football because they’re tired of it feeling like the same team always wins. In Patrick Mahomes’ somewhat short career, he’s already played a staggering 17 playoff games. Mahomes has led the team to 4 Super Bowl Games since becoming the starting QB in 2018, . Amazing right? But kind of tiring too.
Seen It All Before
We’ve seen the Brady/Belichick era, and while it was truly amazing to watch, it also became a running joke among NFL fans. When the season started, it seemed like we were waiting to determine who was going to be playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
All I’m saying is that people love an underdog story. Or a feel-good tale of a team who changed their season around and went on to win the championship. Sure, the Chiefs were different this year and kept saying people were calling them underdogs…..but they were far from that.
Mahomes’ style was a little different and there were fewer massive plays, but this was a solid team. And with Patrick Mahomes leading, you knew they always had a chance. I’m just ready for another team to have a chance before this gets out of hand. Imagine thinking “Who Will the Chiefs be playing in the Super Bowl this year?” a few seasons from now.
That leads to fatigue. And once people are tired enough, they won’t be watching as much. And that’s not a good thing at all.
Then again, maybe they’ll tune in just hoping the Chiefs will fail. Then again, I am an Eagles fan……..and maybe I’m just bitter! LOL
5 Of The All-Time Best Super Bowl Commercials
With the Super Bowl you get two of the NFL’s best teams battling it out for the Championship title. You also get snacks, an adult beverage or three and of course some amazing commercials! This year could be a little different and I’ll explain why. But let’s also take a look at 5 of the All-Time Best Super Bowl Commercials!
Business Insiders are saying that the ads this year might not be as daring or exciting. Many businesses don’t want to risk offending anyone or face any backlash on social media. I get that to a point. But sometimes you have to take a risk. It could pay off with one of the best commercials ever and help your business grow.
It’s so exciting to have a timeout called or a break in the action come up and they cut away to a brand new commercial ready to debut. Is it going to be comical? Maybe have you tear up a little bit? Or show you a clip from an upcoming movie you’re dying to see? No matter what kind of ad it is, it’s always fun to than talk at your get-together and say whether or not you liked it or if it was a miss.
If this year we don’t get that opportunity, I’ll definitely be disappointed. The commercials rival the game when you don’t care about who’s playing. Or you could say they rival the half-time act when you don’t care who’s performing.
Let’s hope we get some really exciting ads this year from a wide array of businesses. And if we don’t, at lest there are countless classics to look back on and laugh at or get choked up by. I wonder if staying away from offending anyone isn’t the only reason not to explore a unique and exciting ad. I mean, these things are expensive as all heck to run during the game.
Either way, let’s take a look at 5 of the All-Time Best Super Bowl Commercials!
Mike is all about having fun each afternoon. He brings you concert tickets, some fun trivia, and of course the best bands. Other interests outside of being at WDHA are drums, movies, and my family. Also, like most radio personalities, he loves live music. There's nothing like a live show to hype him up! His all-time favorite band is Metallica. But according to him, the list of others is pretty lengthy.
