It’s Terrie Carr and it’s “NEW MUSIC FRIDAY” Every few Fridays I love to highlight some cool new tunes/releases that are out and ready for your ears to devour!
Discovering new artists to support is a passion. And New Music Discovery has always been such a HUGE part of the WDHA rock mission. And regardless of what people may say, most new music is discovered on the radio! I simply could not imagine not introducing our listening family to what’s happening in rock from up-and-coming bands and the heritage artists that we love and respect.

• Pearl Jam- Dark Matter

  Amazing 90’s vibes from the band that ALWAYS brings it. From the record of the same name that will be released on April 19th. Twelve records in these guys are still making MONSTER music. I love this one.
  Catch them at MSG- In September- (I have tickets coming your way next week!)

• Ace Frehley- 10,000 Volts (Full Record is Out)

  It’s arrived! 10,000 Volts! The full record is out today- 2/23 and whether you grab the cd or one of the exceptional vinyl pieces, you will love this hot new Ace record that delivers giant guitars, classic hooks, Ace’s best vocals to date and the fun spirit of rock and roll.

   

• The Warning- S!CK (Single)

  I have featured The Warning in a bunch of my music stories because you need to know them! The Villarreal sisters Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra are incredible. Their latest tune is S!CK and the talent of this power trio is inspiring. 

   

• Sonic Universe- I AM (Single)

  WOW!! Sound familiar? Look familiar? Living Colour’s Corey Glover is a timeless vocalist.  Incredible.

  Team him up with Guitarist Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) and Takywuan Jackson on drums and Booker King on bass and power rock is born! This is one of my favorite new tunes and when you hear it you will understand why!

• Mick Mars- The Other Side Of Mars (Full Record is Out)

  It’s hard to believe that Mick Mars is putting out his very first solo album after leaving Motley Crue and “The Other Side Of Mars” (out today 2/23) is a fantastic representation of just how talented the Motley guitar legend is.

  Mick uses two dynamic vocalists on the record – Jacob Bunton and Brian Gamboa, so different and so talented to capture the exact feel of the songs. Producer Michael Wagener who produced the first Motley record ‘Too Fast For Love” made Mick’s solo record his last before retiring and you can feel it! What a solid solo heavy symphony! Don’t miss this one!

   

• Linkin Park- Friendly Fire

  From the “One More Light” 2017 sessions, it is a gift every time we receive the magic of Chester.

  The song is hypnotic, the video haunting. Just what we need. The message is perfect. and will be released on “Papercuts” a singles collection- taking us from 2000-2023. Coming out April 12th. #grateful

• Nothing More- If It Doesn't Hurt

  This track was released a few weeks back as a “fan track’ and is SO good that it is now the first single from the bands forthcoming album. If you aren’t familiar with Nothing More- you should be! Their frontman Jonny Hawkins is a rockstar and Nothing More is superb live.
