Greetings Rockers,
It's Terrie Carr and I am honored and humble to have one of my rock idols join me on this WDHA Reconnect With Rockers webisode- THE METAL GOD- ROB HALFORD!
Let me give you a bit of my back story with Judas Priest and Rob Halford. I grew up a Jersey Metal kid.
My first Priest tour was "Screaming For Vengeance" at the then Brendan Byrne Arena in 1982. I adored Priest and The Metal God.
There is a magic to Halford's voice and metal storytelling capabilities. Fast forward to 1990 (when I was a youngster at DHA) and he was one of my first station interviews. There is only one Metal God. Over the years I interviewed the master, spent time with him and the band taping national radio specials, having him visit WDHA (on the 25th anniversary of British Steel too!) and seeing Rob at shows. He is simply the best. he treats his fans and those around him with respect, inclusion and love. I personally watched him many times sign for every person in our WDHA parking lot. That's The Metal God.
Judas Priest has a brilliant new album coming out on (their 19th, first in 6 years) called Invincible Shield- Judas Priest Invincible Shield
And in this episode of the Reconnect series I reunited with my hero, and we discuss the record, love, the metal community, the EARLY days of Priest, inclusion AND touch on the Women in Rock topic that means so much to me.
Rob is so visual too, so I loved having the opportunity to have him via Zoom. Nothing better than seeing The Metal God when you speak with him. This was one of my favorite in the Reconnect With Rockers series. I hope you enjoy it.
