WDHA’s Morning Jolt 2022 Toys For Tots Wrap Up
Our WDHA Morning Jolt Toys For Tots 2022 campaign was a big success!
We want to thank everyone who took the time to participate, either through our Amazon Wish List or by dropping off a toy in our lobby.
We packed everything into Vanzilla and when we got to the drop off point and opened up the back of the van, we got a big “WOW!” from the Toys For Tots volunteers.
This 2022 holiday season comes during the 75th anniversary of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Program. Since it began in 1947, more than 600 million toys have been delivered to more than 280 million children!
Toys For Tots has grown from its humble beginnings in Los Angeles 75 years ago to a nationwide 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity organization. Even the White House has participated! Former First Lady Michelle Obama placed the first Toys For Tots collection box in the White House in 2009. Both former President Trump and current President Biden carried on the tradition.
You can learn more about Toys For Tots by going to their website.
For years, WDHA listeners have joined us in generously contributing toys, games, books, and sporting goods to our annual Toys For Tots campaign, and 2022 was no different. There will be a lot of smiling young faces this Christmas thanks to your efforts.
Maybe next year, though, we should include gloves with fingers for the one and (thankfully) only Executive Producer Michael Fuzzy Lee. For someone who complains about being cold in the middle of a July heatwave, we have no idea why he doesn’t dress more appropriately when the temperatures drop.
