Celebrate Joni Mitchell’s 80th Birthday In NJ This Week With Deni Bonet and Chris Flynn
On Tuesday November 7, the incomparable Joni Mitchell will celebrate her 80th birthday. Outpost In the Burbs is marking the occasion with a special “Carousel of Time” concert on Friday November 10.
The lineup includes Deni Bonet and Chris Flynn, Emily Grove, Mary Lee Kortes, Heather Maloney, and Jesse Terry.
Deni and Chris sat down with Jim Monaghan on All Mixed Up to talk about this show and the impact of Joni Mitchell’s music, their new Christmas song, and a new album being released in January.
Outpost volunteers will be collecting items for the Human Needs Food Pantry at this show. They are serving more people than ever before and need our help.
Among the items you may bring: packaged stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned turkey gravy & cranberry sauce (no glass jars please), canned vegetables including yams, corn, peas, etc. They also look for pie crusts, pie fillings and cornbread mixes.
Thank you for helping to ensure that our struggling neighbors have a complete Thanksgiving holiday meal.
The Queens Of Noise Returns With A Special Guest (Photo Gallery)
Hi Friends it’s Terrie Carr,
The Queens Of Noise show on WDHA returns for the fall season on WDHA and we kicked it off with a special guest , our friend and amazing rocker Zou Zou Mansour from the band Soraia stopped by to co-host, play some tunes and ROCK IT OUT with me! The Queens Of Noise has become such a popular WDHA feature and our listeners are super psyched for an hour of women in rock from all genres of the format. In fact, it was the WDHA listeners who kept hitting me up to bring it back to the airwaves.
I was texting with Zou Zou when she was in Sweden with the band and she was excited that they were returning from the tour the week that Queens Of Noise was coming back and we made a plan to have her stop by for the first show back in. Soraia has an incredible cover of the classic “Black Magic Woman” that they recently released that will blow you away with the bands recreation of the song “Soraia-Style” . We played some tunes, talked about Zou Zou’s early inspirations, first show and. more. Zou Zou is one of the most authentic, down to earth, caring about the fans artists I have ever met and I love the connection she makes with WDHA listeners.
Here is the playlist for the first show back and check out the video for the bands version of “Black Magic Woman” – Hot me up with your favorite female rockers at TC@WDHAFM.COM
