It’s Terrie Carr with another exclusive, up close and personal “Reconnect” webisode, this time with another fantastic emerging rock artist! Meet Tim Montana! I’m so excited to have Tim on the VIP Acoustic Party roster of WDHA’s Rock The Rock Fest 2024 WDHA Rock The Rock Fest VIP Info and VIP Tickets to perform a set and hang with our New Jersey rock family!

Tim is rocks new “IT” guy with his authentic songwriting, killer guitar chops and organic approach to straight ahead rock music, and in this webiside Tim opens up about tough times growing up, the interesting memories he has of first hearing “Staind”, being discovered by David Letterman, his friendship with Dave Grohl, having a chart climbing single with “The Devil You Know” family life, and how his business partner Billy Gibbons has affected his life.  My hang with Tim was one of the most incredibly fun and rewarding interviews I’ve done, because I didn’t know Tim at all and he made me feel like a best bud! I can’t wait to hang with him on Thursday 4/25 at The Prudential Center at Rock The Rock Fest.

Terrie Carr is WDHA’s Program Director and midday–host and is a Jersey Girl - born and raised and has been rocking the Garden State at WDHA for more than half of her life! “Being a part of the lives of our listeners and community every day is a fantastic gift and I’m honored to bring the party to their workday and lives” Says TC. Terrie loves interviewing artists in studio and on her “Reconnect With Rockers” online feature and has hosted nationally syndicated radio interview specials with Judas Priest, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry and more and has appeared on multiple TV shows and rock host of live events. Terrie’s passion is also giving back, and she started the WDHA Rock N’ Ruff program 14 years ago to raise awareness, and funds and find homes for shelter pets throughout the state of New Jersey. Terrie is also a supporter of The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention and the American Cancer Society and volunteers her time for many community outreach programs. Her hobbies are hanging at the beach, going to concerts, and hanging with her best friend, her rescue dog Rosie.

Meet Des Rocs- A WDHA Exclusive

Meet Des Rocs! One of rock’s hottest newcomers.

I’m a Des Rocs fan girl! There, I said it……Terrie Carr here and turning our listeners on to new DHA rock is one of the greatest aspects of my job.

My new obsession? “Des Rocs’ ……

Now, let me start by saying WDHA DID NOT introduce me to Des Rocs. I discovered him when I saw this completely unknown open for The Rolling Stones back in 2019. An unknown, unmanaged (with no record label) young artist…..WHAT? And he was so impressive! Fast forward to the 2020 pandemic and I hear that the incredible talent I saw in 2019 is putting out a debut record.  Let’s talk about Des Rocs!

About Des Rocs- (In 3 paragraphs!) 

  1. Born in Long Island New York as Danny Rocco, Des Rocs was created by Danny-  who was influenced by Elvis Presley, Jimmy Hendrix and especially Queen and Freddie Mercury.
  2. Young Danny began performing in bars in Long Island in his early teens and decided to do music his own way. Something I respect so much! Soon Danny knew that when he performed a sort of alter ego took over and Danny Rocco became Des Rocs.  In the interview below, Des Rocs explains his creative process, songwriting, and rock and roll’s power. He also tells me about a chance show that helped land him an opening slot for The Rolling Stones.
  3. Dream Machine is the second studio release from Des Rocs and it brings 9 SOLID tracks with dynamic, fuzzy, yet memorable crisp riffs and chunky, raw hooks you can sing along to.  Danny/Des shows his fantastic songwriting chops too, and a constant touring journey has made him one of the most buzz-worthy artists in rock as he has played monster festivals, opened for bands like Muse, and headlined venues around the country.
